LAST WEEK
Colorado Mesa went 4-2 in six duals including a 20-20 tiebreaking loss to Chadron State last Thursday. The Mavericks rebounded with a 3-1 showing at the Midwest Duals in Kearney. They defeated nationally ranked Fort Hays State (T-19), Augustana (T-19), and Northern State (7). The only other loss the Mavericks suffered was to fourth-ranked Nebraska-Kearney, where they lost four matches by two points or less. Colorado Mesa is now 4-1 against ranked opponents in duals this season.

BUHRACAINE
Sophomore Jason Buhr went 5-0 last weekend during the Nebraska road trip. Buhr had two wins by pin and a technical fall last weekend and moved his winning streak to 10 straight matches. He entered the week ranked 12th in the country at 165 pounds but should move up in the new rankings that will be released this week.

LIGHTWEIGHT
Junior Tommy Tawata has solidified himself as the Colorado Mesa 125 pounder. Tawata went 4-0 at the Midwest Duals that included an 11-5 win over nationally ranked Vlad Kazakov of Nebraska Kearney. He is 8-7 on the season.

THIS WEEK
The Mavericks will take on CSU-Pueblo and Colorado Mines on the Front Range. CSU-Pueblo enters the dual coming off a successful stint at the Midwest Duals and a fourth place finish at the NWCA National Duals while Mines went 1-2 in Kearney dropping a pair of close matches to San Francisco State and Central Missouri.
