BILLINGS, Mont. – The Colorado Mesa University men's and women's tennis teams each collected 5-0 RMAC wins over Colorado Christian Friday (April 10).
Emily Dodson and
Amy Beeston moved up to No. 1 doubles defeating Maria Aguirre and Katy Balli 8-1.
Natalie Martin and
Katie Kirby won 9-7 at No. 2 doubles, and
Michelle Phillips and
Katie Metz 8-2.
The two teams played to clinch with
Amy Beeston and
Michelle Phillips taking singles wins.
Amy Beeston defeated Ryanne Ritchey 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 singles.
Michelle Phillips defeated Cassie Greco 6-2, 6-2.
The men swept all three doubles matches.
Spencer Weinberg and
Jordan Lyden defeated Mitch Swim and Chase Gebhart 8-3 at No. 1.
Andres Garcia-Rojas and
Cody Freischlag won 8-3 at No. 2, and
Duncan Alger and
Ben Schlichting won 8-0 at No. 3.
Jordan Lyden won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles over Chase Gebhart.
Spencer Weinberg was leading the first set 5-0 over Mitch Swim at No. 2 before Swim retired.
CMU will close the weekend Saturday (April 11) with matches against MSU-Billings.Â
