KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Colorado Mesa University men's and women's tennis concluded their Spring Break trip with four wins.
The women swept Colby (9-0) and Carthage (8-1). The men posted an 8-1 win over Colby and a 6-3 win over Carthage.
Colorado Mesa swept all three doubles matches against Colby.
Kristyn Wykert and
Rachel McLaughlin won 8-5 at No. 1, and
Emily Dodson and
Amy Beeston won 8-4.
Natalie Martin and
Katie Kirby completed the sweep with an 8-2 win at No. 3.
The Mavericks won five of six singles matches.
Natalie Martin had a three set win at No. 1 (6-4, 1-6, 10-6).
The CMU women completed the day with a 9-0 sweep over Colby.
The men earned wins at No. 1 and 3 doubles against Carthage.
The Mavericks also earned singles wins at No. 1, 2, 3 and 5.
Jordan Lyden won 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) at No. 1, and
Spencer Weinberg won in three sets (2-6, 6-2, 10-5) at No. 2.
Andres Garcia-Rojas clinched the match with a 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 victory at No. 3.
Trevor Brown won at No. 4 singles 7-6 (7-2), 6-1.
The men repeated with wins at No. 1 and 3 doubles against Colby.
The team swept all six singles matches.
Spencer Weinberg won at No. 2 singles (6-1, 4-6, 10-6), and Ben Schlitchting won 0-6, 6-0, 10-6 at No. 6.Â
