GRAND JUNCTION, N.M. – The Colorado Mesa men's tennis team split a pair of home matches Friday (Oct. 2). The men opened with a 9-0 sweep over Colorado Christian and dropped a narrow 5-4 loss to MSU Denver in a match that did not finish until after 11 pm.
Mesa juggled its line-up for the CCU match.
Trevor Brown and
Ben Schlichting won 8-4 at No. 1 doubles, and
Lucas Martin and
Max Lindqvist won 8-5 at No. 2.
Cody Carlton and
Tyler Leasure won 8-4 at No. 3.
Lucas Martin won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, and
Max Lindqvist earned a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 2.
Trevor Brown posted a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3, and
Ben Schlichting won 6-4, 6-2 at No. 4.
Cody Carlton was victorious 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5, and
Tyler Leasure won 6-0, 4-6, 10-6 at No. 6.
Metro entered singles play up 2-1 after winning at No. 1 and 3.

Ben Schlichting won 9-8 (2) at No. 2 for CMU.
The Mavs would pick up singles wins at No. 2, 4 and 5.
Cody Freischlag defeated Joey Tscherne 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2.
Max Lindqvist defeated Porter Emery 6-1, 6-3 at No. 4, and
Trevor Brown defeated Marty Lukosiunas 6-4, 3-6, 10-6 at No. 5. Â
CMU will have a quick turn around as it hosts CSU-Pueblo at 8 am and Colorado College at 3 pm Saturday (Oct. 3).Â
