WICHITA FALLS, Texas – The Colorado Mesa men's tennis outstanding season came to end with a 5-1 loss to St. Edwards in the NCAA Regional Saturday (May 3).
Trevor Brown and
Andres Garcia-Rojas earned the one Maverick win defeating Maximo Agoglia and Adrian Garza 8-6 at No. 3 doubles.
Jordan Lyden and
Spencer Weinberg nearly came away with the win at No. 1 doubles falling 9-7.
Blake Demond and
Cody Freischlag lost 8-4 at No. 2 doubles to Patrick Clynes and Alexandre Bueno.
The Hilltoppers won the match with wins at No. 1, 4, and six singles.
Patrick Clynes defeated
Jordan Lyden 6-1, 7-5 at No. 1 singles, and Maximo Agoglia picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win over
Blake Demond at No. 4.
Adrian Garza gave St. Edward's the win with a 6-1, 6-1 decision over
Trevor Brown at No. 6.
The Mavericks were leading in two of the three remaining singles matches that went unfinished.
CMU finishes the season 13-10.
