Mavs Beat Hastings, Fall to Kearney, No. Colorado

Colorado Mesa posted a 1-2 record on the road as the Mavericks embark on a spring break trip to Nebraska and Montana. CMU fell to former RMAC rival; Neb.-Kearney 7-2 on Monday at the Grand Island Tennis Center in Grand Island, NE. Tuesday the Mavericks swept Hastings College 9-0, before falling to Division I Northern Colorado, Wednesday in Greeley.

Jordan Lyden (#1) and Taylor Macres (#4) picked up the Mavericks two points versus Neb.-Kearney. Lyden defeated UNK's number one singles player, Yeswanth Nadella 6-3, 4-6, 10-6 and Macres beat Arin Enge, 2-6, 7-5, 10-7. CMU dropped two of the four singles matches in third set super tie-breakers.

CMU beat Hastings College 9-0 winning all six singles matches in straight sets. The Mavs dropped just 10 games in 12 singles-sets and dominated doubles play in the victory.

Against Division I Northern Colorado the Bears beat the Mavericks 6-1, Wednesday afternoon in Greeley on the campus of UNC.

Andres Garcia-Rojas defeated UNC's number three singles player, Mitchel Knight in a third set super tie-break, after dropping the first set. Garcia-Rojas posted a 4-6, 6-1, 10-5 win for the Mavs' lone point in the dual.

CMU opens RMAC play on Friday at Montana State Billings. On Saturday the Mavericks will play Metro State in Billings before returning home.
