M. Basketball Preview - Colo. Mines & Colo. Christian

Colorado Mesa will be on the road this weekend. On Friday, they will take on the Colorado Mines Orediggers from Golden. Then on Sunday they will play the Colorado Christian Cougars in Lakewood. Here is a quick preview of both games.

Last Week for the Orediggers: Colorado Mines dropped a pair of roada games last weekend. Mines lost to Adams State 67-58 in Alamosa on Friday then dropped a 71-69 contest to Fort Lewis on Saturday in Durango. Both opponents were ranked.

RMAC Standings: The Orediggers are currently tied with CSU-Pueblo for fifth place in the RMAC standings. Both teams are three games back of Colorado Mesa for the fourth position.

Oredigger to Watch:
Big Man Trevor Wages (Jr., Littleton, Colo.) has been a beast in the RMAC this season. He has been either the Offensive or Defensive Player of the Week three times this season. He leads the RMAC in Rebounding averaging over 10 boards a game and scored 24 points and 11 rebounds against UCCS two weeks ago.

Last Week for the Cougars: Colorado Christian split a pair of road games last weekend. On Friday, they dropped an 84-71 decision to Fort Lewis in Durango then on Saturday, they stunned the RMAC by defeating nationally ranked Adams State 78-76 in Alamosa.

RMAC Standings: The Cougars are tied for 12th place in the RMAC and are three games out of the eighth and final spot in the RMAC Tournament.

Cougar to Watch:
Kyle Weaver (Jr., Phoenix, Ariz.) drives the Cougars wagon this season. When he goes, Colorado Christian goes. Weaver leads the Cougars in scoring averaging 11.8 per game this season. In seven of the Cougars eight wins, Weaver has been in double figures in scoring. He had a season-high 29 points in the Cougars win over the Grizzlies.
