#13 Mavs move to record-setting 12-0, Beat Mines 68-53

Colorado Mesa (12-0, 8-0 RMAC) University women's basketball team defeated Colorado School of Mines (8-5, 5-2 RMAC) 68-53 setting the record for the longest win streak, surpassing the 1998-'99 team that started the season 11-0, before falling at Grand Canyon University in overtime.

CMU led from start to finish and held a double digit lead nearly the entire contest, taking a 12-2 advantage at the 14:20 mark of the first half. The Mavericks led 39-20 at intermission led by Kelsey Sigl's 15 first half points.

Sigl led all players finishing with 21 points and six rebounds. Sharaya Selsor recorded 20 points, hitting 4 of 8 from beyond the arc. Katrina Selsor added 16 points and a game high nine rebounds and eight assists.

CMU jumped out to a 16-2 lead to begin the game and led by as many as 21 points in the first half while shooting 50 percent (14-28) from the floor. The Mavericks shot 44.4 percent (24-54) for the game and dominated the boards, out-rebounding the Orediggers 41-28.

Colorado Mines was led by Taylor Helbig's 16 points.

CMU will look to extend their win streak on the road next week as the Mavericks will travel to CSU-Pueblo and UC-Colorado Springs for RMAC action. Tip-off time is slated for 5:30 p.m. on Friday against the CSU-Pueblo ThunderWolves. Saturday CMU will travel to Colorado Springs for a match-up with the Mountain Lions.
