Mavs Climb to No. 7 in USA Today/ WBCA Coaches’ Poll

14-0, 10-0 RMAC

Colorado Mesa University women's basketball (14-0, 10-0 RMAC) moved up one spot to No. 7 in the USA Today/WBCA Division II Coaches' Poll released earlier today. CMU has climbed in each of the previous four polls, moving up from No. 8 last week, and have now reached its highest ranking in CMU history, tying the No. 7 ranking set by the 2002 Mavericks team (March 5, 2002).

CMU remains the only Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference team to crack the Top 25 poll and boasts the second best undefeated record in the poll. CMU is one of five teams without a loss.

Ashland University remains in the No. 1 spot at 17-0 overall, receiving 775 total points. Ashland University received all 31-first place votes. CMU is receiving 574 points.

CMU improved their record to 14-0, 10-0 in RMAC action, with wins this weekend on the road at CSU-Pueblo (70-66) and UC-Colorado Springs (56-55). CSU-Pueblo is the only RMAC institution receiving votes.

The Mavs' 14-0 start is the best in school history, breaking the previous season-opening mark of 11-0 in 1988-1999.

CMU is averaging 73.0 points per game and outscoring their opponent by a +21.8 scoring margin. Three Mavericks are averaging double digits; Kelsey Sigl (17.7 ppg), Sharaya Selsor (13.7) and Katrina Selsor (13.6).
