Colorado Mesa men's tennis team battled back from a 5-4 final match defeat on Friday morning at the hands of CSU-Pueblo to beat visiting Augustana (SD) 5-4. The Mavericks won the dual on the final match as
John Hendrickson defeated Neal Gregerson 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) to seal the victory.
CMU trailed 1-2 following doubles with the Mavs' number 1 team of
Jordan Lyden and
Andres Hernandez beating Augustana's top team 8-3.
The Mavericks rallied in singles play winning 4 of the 6 matches for the victory, including sweeps at the top three singles slot.

Brason Hollabaugh won 6-2, 6-1 and number 3 player
Andres Hernandez won 6-4, 6-0. Freshman
Jordan Lyden (#2) dropped his first set 4-6, but stormed back to win 6-3, 6-1.

Sterling Inouye lost at number 6 singles, 7-6 (7-4) 6-1.
With the match tied at 4-4, Herdrickson held off his opponent and CMU pulled out the victory 5-4.
The Mavericks will host Sonoma State on Sunday morning at 9 am.

CMU dropped their final weekend match on Sunday morning against Sonoma State (Calif.), 8-1.
The Mavericks were edged out in each of the three doubles matches, falling 9-7 at number 1 and 8-6 in each of the number 2 and 3 doubles matches.
Jordan Lyden won at number two singles, 6-2, 6-4 for the lone CMU point.
Andres Hernandez lost in a third set super tie-break, 6-2, 0-6, 12-10 at number 3 singles.
Sterling Inouye dropped a third set super tie-break, 6-4, 4-6, 10-1 at number 6 singles.
CMU will travel to Pueblo this weekend for matches versus; Neb.-Kearney, Montana State Billings and Western New Mexico.
