Mavs down Mountaineers 66-60

Extend win streak to five

Box Score

Kalonji Paschal's 14-second half points help lead the Mavericks to a 66-60 win at Western State Saturday night. The win improved the Mavs to 17-7 overall and 13-7 in RMAC action.

Lance Fite had eight points at half and finished the night with 12 points, five assists and four rebounds.

Jeff Hart was 5 for 6 from the floor and recorded 10 points off the bench.

Western State held a 33-28 halftime lead and shot 68 percent (13-19) from the floor in the first half.

MSC opened the second half with a 7-2 run and tied the game on a Colton Burgon's lay-up at 15:58. Blake Francom hit a trey at 14:55 for a 39-38 lead and the Mavs went on a 13-4 run and a 10 point lead. MSC never relinquished their lead, holding off the Mountaineers for the victory.

Colton pulled down a team high five rebounds to go along with his seven points.

MSC will close out the regular season at home this weekend versus Adams State and Fort Lewis. Tipoff for Friday is 8 p.m. Saturday night is senior night as Lance Fite and Russell Gregory will be honored in between the women's and men's game. Saturday's game is scheduled for 7 p.m.
