Mesa falls at Western NM 84-68

Mesa State women fell at Western New Mexico 84-68 Saturday night in Silver City. The loss dropped the Mavs to 8-14, 5-10 in league play. The win kept the Mustangs post season hopes alive improving to 6-15, 6-9 in RMAC action.

 MSC played the Mustangs close in the second half but could not overcome a 50-37 halftime deficit.

 Alaina Brennan posted a season high 21 points and pulled down seven rebounds in 34 minutes. Meagan Selvidge added 20 points hitting on 6 of 11 from beyond the arc.

 Courtney McCaig hit 4 of 7 from the 3 point line to finish with 12 points and five rebounds.  Katie Cupp led the team with five assists and added nine points.

 The Mavericks will travel to Adams State and Fort Lewis next weekend for their final regular season road trip. MSC returns home February 26-27 to host CSU-Pueblo and New Mexico Highlands.
