Mesa State men extended their win streak to seven and remain a perfect 5-0 at home beating Western State Tuesday night 84-64.
The Mavericks victory came the same day the team reached its highest national ranking in program history, #14 in the latest National Association of Basketball Coaches Division II poll.
Tuesday night the Mavs had six players register double digit figures led by RMAC Player of the Week Mike Dominguez's game high 16 points. Dominguez had six rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Ryan Mortensen and Brian Kenshalo finished with 12 points each. Mortensen's 12 points is a season high and the second time this season he has registered double digits. Each scored a game high 3 treys.
Jase Herl and Michael Bear had 11 points each. Herl posted a game high 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Bear had 4 blocked shots and 4 boards.
Sean Flohr finished with 10 points. Flohr was 3-6 from the 3-point line, had 2 rebounds and 1 blocked shot.
MSC shot 54.5 percent (24-44) from the floor and hit 27-39 free throws. WSC shot 38.9 percent (21-54) from the field and made 16-21 from the foul line.
The Mountaineers were led by Dan Biber's 13 points.
MSC will host Western New Mexico Thursday night at Brownson Arena at 8 p.m.
