Mavs Second at Spring Invitational

                Grand Canyon's Jacqueline Sneddon's birdie on the playoff hole (18th hole) won her the individual title at the Quality Inn Maverick Spring Invitational at The Golf Club at Redlands Mesa Tuesday afternoon. The birdie was enough to overcome senior Sadie Peavler-Farnsworth's first round school record 69 on Monday. The two were tied at 155 after two days and 36 holes, forcing the playoff. Sneddon shot a 78 Tuesday after posting a 77 on Monday.  Peavler-Farnsworth's first round school record 69 was followed up with a round two 86 on Tuesday.

                Grand Canyon claimed the team title combining for a two-day total 648, three strokes lower than MSC's 651. MSC led by eight strokes entering today's final round. The Mavericks had four players finish in the top 10.

                Freshman Jessica Berve tied for fourth place carding a 163. Jennifer Hilts placed sixth with a 164. Hilts posted a 79, MSC's low round of the day. Afton Balling finished ninth with a 169. Brittani White's 185 placed her 18th overall.

                Regis University finished third with a two-day total 696. The Rangers were the only team to post a lower score (349-347) in the final round.

                Adams State (709), Chadron State (734) and CSU-Pueblo (773) finished fourth through sixth respectively.

                MSC, ranked fifth in the latest regional poll, will travel to Buckeye, Ariz., for the RMAC Championships this coming Saturday and Sunday.
