Jordan Chomko's victory at number one singles was the Mavericks only win in six matches as MSC dropped a 7-2 decision at Western New Mexico Wednesday afternoon. Chomko defeated the Mustangs number one player, Flavio Rueda 6-3, 6-3. Chomko and doubles partner Nick Provenza posted an 8-2 win over WNMU's number one doubles team for the only two points of the RMAC dual match in Silver City, NM.
WNMU posted straight set victories in the remaining five singles matches. The Mustangs also posted wins at number 2 and 3 doubles.
MSC went 4-2 on the spring break trip to Phoenix, Ariz. The Mavericks went 1-1 versus Division II schools, beating Grand Canyon before falling to RMAC foe Western New Mexico. MSC posted a 3-1 record against area community colleges.
MSC will host Hastings College on Tuesday, March 17 at 2:30 p.m.
