Women Fall to Western New Mexico

Mustangs Win 68-54

            Mesa State dropped their sixth road game falling to Western New Mexico 68-54 in Silver City, NM.  Saturday night. Stephanie Delgado's career high 24 points and 15 rebounds were both game highs. WNMU had three players finish with double digit figures improving their record to 7-12, 5-6. The loss dropped the Mavs to 4-15 overall and 1-10 in league play.

The Mustangs led 33-29 at halftime and never trailed in the second half as they extended the lead to double figures mid-way through the second half. WNMU out-rebounded MSC 41-36 and forced 13 second half MSC turnovers.

MSC shot 34.9 percent (22-63) from the field and made just 2-of-10 from beyond the arc. WNMU shot 45.1 percent (23-51) from the field, 45.5 percent (5-11) from the 3-point line and 68 percent (17-25) from the foul line. MSC hit 8-of-14 from the free throw line.

MSC returns to the road for a match-up with Adams State College this Friday night and at league-leading Fort Lewis College Saturday night in Durango.
