Mesa State (2-6) dropped a 69-42 contest at Division I Northern Colorado (4-5) Tuesday night at Butler-Hancock Arena in Greeley.

Courtney McCaig had a team high 15 points and eight rebounds for the Mavericks. McCaig scored 13 points in the second half shooting 4 of 7 from the field.

UNC had four players in double figures led by Whitley Cox's game high 16 points.

MSC trailed 3-17 at intermission and were out scored 36-25 in the second half. The Bears out-rebounded the Mavs 45-27, including 18 offensive boards. UNC finished 18 0f 22 from the foul line while MSC shot just eight free throws, connection on six.

The Mavs will practice this week before breaking for the holiday. MSC will return to action January 2 at Dixie State and resume RMAC play January 8 at Chadron State.
