GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.— The Colorado Mesa University women's lacrosse team will continue a 3-game homestand at Community Hospital Unity Field with contests against 16
th-ranked Florida Tech and Northern Michigan on Saturday and Monday afternoons, respectively.
The Mavs are still in search of their first win and will enter the stretch with a 0-4 record against one of the toughest schedules to date in the country.
Saturday's game against the Florida Tech Panthers (1-4) is slated for Noon. Monday's game against the Northern Michigan Wildcats (4-0) will begin at 4 p.m.

Last Time Out
The Mavericks dropped their home-opener to Missouri Western State by a 9-7 count this past Sunday (Feb. 21).
The Griffons, who went 2-1 on their trip to Grand Junction with neutral-site games two days before and after, jumped out to a 3-0 lead before the Mavericks came back to tie the game at 4 right before halftime. The Mavs then took a 6-5 lead in the third quarter before the Griffons scored four of the game's final five goals to take the win.
CMU senior
Carson Dickey led the Maverick attack with three goals while
Kenzie Streby scored her first two goals of the campaign. Deven Morris and
Cameron Flynn also scored for the Mavs, who finished with a 31-14 advantage in total shots.
Friendly Home Schedule
The Mavs are slated to play eight home games this season, including the upcoming games.
They will also begin their Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference slate at home on Mar. 15 against UCCS.
The Mavs also played eight home games in 2025, going 5-3 in those. However, two of those came in the postseason as the Mavs hosted the RMAC Tournament for the first time in program history.
The Mavs also played eight home games in 2019 and 2022 but have not played any more than that since 2017, when they played ten home games while going 7-3.
The Mavs have posted a winning home record in 11 straight seasons from 2015-25 and went a combined 58-18 at home in that time, good for a .757 winning percentage.
CMU is 0-1 at home so far this season.
Ranked Florida Foes
Saturday's game against Florida Tech will be the Mavs' fourth of the young season against a nationally-ranked team from the Sunshine State. The Panthers are tabbed 16
th in the current Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association's Division II Coaches Poll.
The Mavs opened the season with a 3-game, 6-day swing through Florida, where they met then No. 10 Saint Leo, No. 19 Rollins and No. 11 Lynn.
Those teams are now ranked 11
th, 18
th and ninth in the country,
according to the most recent IWLCA poll.
Ten in (Top 10)
Maverick senior
Carson Dickey is second in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference statistics with ten goals thus far and in the process has joined the top 10 of the Mavs' career goal scoring charts. The Murrieta, California native now has 81 career goals, good for a ninth place tie in CMU history.
She is tied with Ashton Whittle and just four goals behind former teammate Carolina Ohngemach who scored 85 career goals to rank eighth in CMU history.
Dickey is just 19 goals away from becoming the sixth Maverick to ever reach the century mark and has scored in each of the Mavs' last three games.
Coach's Corner
Ashley Delaney is in her third year as the Mavs' head coach and her seventh on the CMU staff after serving as an assistant for the four previous seasons from 2020-23.
The Mavs have gone 11-6 in both of Delaney's previous years as a head coach and posted a 33-19 combined record in her four years as an assistant under two previous head coaches.
She was named as the RMAC Coach of the Year in 2025 after leading the Mavs to a share of the RMAC Regular Season Championship and to hosting rights of the RMAC Tournament for the first time in program history.
She also helped the Mavs win a share of the RMAC crown in 2023 when she was an assistant coach. The Mavericks are a combined 55-35 with her on the coaching staff and have played in all five RMAC Tournament Championship games with her on the staff.
Counting this year, Delaney now has a 22-16 record as the Mavs' head coach.
She and the Mavs are 0-1 against Florida Tech.
She was an assistant coach for the Mavs' 2020 team that beat Northern Michigan.
Know Your Foes
Florida Tech
The Panthers are currently 1-4 but have played a difficult schedule with all five of their previous games coming against nationally-ranked opposition.
They have played two double overtime games, beating No. 2 ranked Adelphi on Feb. 17 in their only home game to date. They also lost in double overtime at No. 19 Rollins on Feb. 7 and lost on Thursday night to No. 17 Regis by just one goal (14-13) in the first of their two games in Colorado. The two games are their first in program history in the Centennial State and the Mountain Time Zone.
Sophia Scichilone became the first player in program history to record 100 or more career assists in Thursday's game, registering four. She has nine this season and 102 in her career.
She also ranks second on this year's team with ten goals and has scored 116 times in her career.
Gillian Craig paces the team with 16 goals and 20 points and also eclipsed the 100 career goal milestone on Saturday in the Panther's 19-10 loss to No. 9 Embry Riddle. She has 103 career goals after recording 58 last year alone.
Phoebe Hurt leads the defensive until with 12 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers and is tied for second with 16 draw controls. Clare McGuire also has 16 draw controls while Emma Angelo paces the team with 17.
Bridget Robinson has played a majority of the time in net, recording 49 saves. She has a 15.25 goals against average and .398 save percentage.
Northern Michigan
The Wildcats are off to a 4-0 start after winning 14-8 at home over Lewis in the Superior Dome in Marquette, Michigan on Thursday. They had won their first three games, also played at home, by ten or more goals defeating NCAA Division III Calvin (20-10) as well as Division II Northwood (20-4) and McKendree (15-5) in a span of seven days from Feb. 13-19.
Josie Lakosky is off to a flying start having scored 27 goals while assisting on nine others in the four wins. She had eight, seven and eight goals in the first three wins before being held to a more modest four against Lewis.
The junior was named as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Attacker of the Year in 2025 and was the leagues' freshman of the year in 2024. She has 141 goals and 185 points in just 41 career games.
She also leads the Wildcats with 23 draw controls, 16 ground balls and ten caused turnovers.
Vanessa Carrico and Avery Lorinser have also had strong starts with ten and nine goals, respectively.
The goalkeeping duo of Lauren Esposito and Hannah Clark has also been steady. Esposito has started three games and has a 7.60 goals against average and .513 save percentage with 20 saves in 2 ½ games. Hannah Clark has a 5.33 goals against average and save percentage with five saves in 90 minutes worth of net time.
Series Histories
The Mavs are a combined 1-1 all-time against the upcoming opponents.
They fell 15-8 at Florida Tech in Melbourne on Feb. 27 of last season in the only previous match-up with the Panthers.
Courteney Murray recorded her first career hat-trick in that game while
Courtney Havel and
Carson Dickey also scored twice each.
The only previous match-up with Northern Michigan came on Mar. 4, 2020 early on in what would be the abbreviated season. The Mavs won that game at home, 18-7.
RMAC Network News
All of the Mavs' home and RMAC road games, will be streamed on
the RMAC Network, which has moved to a pay-per-view model for the 2025-26 season. This season, all RMAC athletic events broadcast by its 15 full-member institutions and associate members will only be available for purchase via a single-game pass or a monthly or annual subscription. Revenue generated by the network will be redistributed to the league's membership to enhance their programs.
RMAC fans can purchase monthly and annual subscriptions that will provide them with access to all regular-season, championship, and archived broadcasts on the RMAC Network. A monthly subscription costs $25, and an annual subscription costs $130. Single-game passes are available for $10, which grants access to a single game for 24 hours.
Additionally, a discounted annual subscription price will be available to students, faculty, and staff of each member institution throughout the year. Purchasing options and pricing for individual RMAC Championships will be announced closer to each event.
