COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— Five Colorado Mesa University women's wrestlers were named to the 2025-26 All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Teams, which were officially announced by the conference on Wednesday afternoon.

Adriana Gomez, sophomore
Sophia Cornish and redshirt senior
Jayleen Sekona were named to the first team while sophomore
Jojo McDaniel and senior
Celina Preston both earned second team accolades.
The awards were based solely on the wrestlers' performances at the RMAC Championship tournament on Jan. 31 with the champion of each weight class earning first team honors while the runner-up of each bracket claiming second team honors.
The major awards of Wrestler of the Year, Freshman of the Year and Coach of the Year by a vote of the conference's five head coaches, who could not vote for themselves nor their wrestlers.
Gomez, a native of Laveen, Arizona, won the 110-pound title at the RMAC Championships and has a team-high 27 wins to her credit this season.
Cornish, who hails from Mission Viejo, California, was a Second Team All-RMAC pick last season and sports a 23-9 record at 117 pounds. She will also enter this weekend's NCAA Division II Region VI Championships ranked eighth in the country.
Sekona is ranked seventh at 207 pounds and sports a 25-7 record this season. She recently became CMU's all-time winningest wrestler and has 97 wins entering the regional with a chance of reaching the century mark this weekend. Due to injury, she had not previously competed in the RMAC Championships, which were held for the third time this year.
McDaniel, who hails from Orting, Washington took second behind Cornish in the 117-pound bracket at this year's RMAC Championships and has posted an 18-14 record this season. She is now a 2-time All-RMAC honoree after earning first team honors and RMAC Co-Freshman of the Year honors last season.
Preston is 21-11 this season and took second at the RMAC Championships. The Sparks, Nevada product has 85 career wins to rank fourth in program history. She was also a Second Team All-RMAC pick in 2025 while competing under maiden name of Cooke.
This weekend's historic NCAA Regional Championships will qualify wrestlers for the Mar. 6-7 NCAA Championships, the first ever NCAA sponsored championship for the sport. Three wrestlers in each weight class at each of the six regionals around the country will qualify.
The Mavs will compete in the Region VI Championships in St. Charles, Missouri on Saturday and Sunday.
