COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.- The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference released its Players of the Week for men's soccer. Colorado Mesa was honored with Richie Tabares Ochoa being awarded Offensive Player of the Week.
This is the first time Tabares Ochoa has been honored by the RMAC and just the second Mav to win the weekly award this season.
While not scoring any goals against Regis, Tabares Ochoa responded by scoring the seventh hat trick in program history in his next game against South Dakota Mines. All his goals were scored on free kicks.
He played all 90 minutes in both games and put up a combined 11 shots. All eight of his shots against South Dakota Mines were on goal.
He is the first Mav since Matteo Bonelli in 2025 to score three goals in a game and win the award.
Tabares Ochoa now leads the team in goals (8), assists (7) and points (23). His assist total places him fifth in program history while his point total places him eighth.
Tabares Ochoa will look to continue his impressive form when the Mavs host the Colorado Christian Cougars on Friday. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
