GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.— After placing fourth at their first tournament and third at the second, the Colorado Mesa University women's golf team will hope to continue their upward trajectory when they compete at the Wasatch Invitational on Sunday and Monday in South Jordan, Utah.

The Mavericks are one of 11 teams in the field that will contest the 36-hole tournament at the Glenmoor Golf Club after a practice round on Saturday.

Action will begin at 8:30 a.m. on both days of the tournament, with designated tee times on holes 1 and 10 on Sunday.  Monday's portion will begin with a shotgun start.

Westminster University is hosting the tournament.

Last Time Out

The Mavericks are coming off a third place finish at the Travis Roy Memorial Invitational in Sheridan, Wyoming on Monday and Tuesday.  The Mavericks posted team scores of 304 and 308 in the two rounds and were in second place after the first day before falling back slightly.

The Mavericks were the second best of seven Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference squads in the field of 12 teams, finishing only behind CSU Pueblo and Texas A&M-International.  The Mavs also defeated four other non-conference foes from the NCAA West Region.

The Mavs had two golfers finish in the top ten of the individual standings and another just outside that mark in a tie for 11th.  Senior Payton Panzeri carded scores of 73 and 76 and finished eighth at 149 (+5) while fifth-year senior Anju Ogi registered back-to-back rounds of 75 to finish in a ninth place tie at 150 (+6).  Sophomore Hunter Gledhill finished in a tie for 11th at 151 (+7).
