AZUSA, Calif.— Running in the same heat, Colorado Mesa University's
Brooke Miller and
Megan Hodges both set new career-best times in the 1,500 meters on Friday evening here at Azusa Pacific University's Bryan Clay Invitational.
Miller finished in 4:35.93 while Hodges crossed the line in 4:37.77. They continue to rank fourth and fifth in program history after setting times of 4:38.28 and 4:39.36, respectively at earlier meets in Pueblo, Colorado.
However, those earlier were run at altitude and are slightly faster than Friday's efforts with the altitude conversions that lowered Miller's time to 4:32.43 and Hodges' to 4:33.48.
They are both likely to qualify for next week's Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships and were ranked 13
th and 14
th on the RMAC's season-long performance lists entering the day. The top 24 declared athletes in each event will qualify.
