COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— For the second time this season, Colorado Mesa University freshman goaltender Heather Hawkins has been named as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week.  The honor was announced by conference officials on Monday afternoon.
 
The Palmer Lake, Colorado native also earned the same award two weeks ago on Mar. 17.
 
In the Mavericks' two running-clock margin victories over the weekend, Hawkins made 16 saves and posted a 3.75 goals against average and .696 save percentage.  She also had six groundballs and a caused turnover over the weekend.
 
She made nine saves and allowed just two goals in Friday night's 17-2 win over CSU Pueblo before making seven saves and allowing just five goals in the Mavs' 17-6 win over Fort Lewis.
 
The Mavs have won five straight games and lead the RMAC standings at 5-0 at the half-way mark of the conference schedule.
 
CMU, 6-4 overall, will continue the campaign against Westminster (5-5, 2-3 RMAC) on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in Salt Lake City, Utah.    The Griffins' Jordan Williamson was named as the RMAC Offensive Player of the Week after scoring 15 goals in wins over Fort Lewis and CSU Pueblo, ten of which came in their win over Fort Lewis on Friday.
