Christensen nabs second RMAC Pitcher of the Week honor

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— Colorado Mesa University junior Preslee Christensen was named as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season, it was announced by the conference on Tuesday.  The award was the last of the season.

The Heber City, Utah native posted a 2-0 record and perfect 0.00 ERA as the Mavericks swept visiting CSU Pueblo to win the RMAC's outright regular season title and extend their winning streak to 33 games.

Christensen tossed a 5-hit shutout, in the Mavs' 8-0 title-clinching victory on Saturday and gave up just a single unearned run in the Mavs' 7-1 Friday series-opening victory.  She completed both games, allowing just 11 hits and one walk while striking out eight ThunderWolves.

Christensen now leads the RMAC with her 1.99 ERA and is tied for the conference lead with six shutouts.  She also has a solid 17-3 record and ranks second in the conference for wins and third for strikeouts (115).

Christensen had also been named as the RMAC Pitcher of the Week on Feb. 20.

The Mavericks have now won 15 RMAC titles including seven of the last eight and will host the RMAC Tournament, beginning Thursday when they will play at 3 p.m. against the winner of the Colorado School of Mines/Regis contest that begins the tournament at 10 a.m.
