BOULDER CITY, Nev. – The Colorado Mesa women's golf team finished a solid weekend of golf as they finished second in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships on Tuesday (Apr. 23) afternoon at Boulder Creek Golf Club.
The Mavericks shot the third best team score on the day with a 306 and finished the tournament with a three-round score of 911 to finish second in the conference championship tournament. They were able to hold off third-place Regis, who finished one stroke back, throughout the day.
CSU Pueblo won the team title and led wire-to-wire with a 25-over, 889.
Cassidy Phelan led the Mavericks with a tied for fifth-place finish on the individual leaderboard after shooting a 4-over, 76 in the final round. Phelan played the front-nine to a 2-over 38 before playing the back-nine to 2-over as well. Her lone birdie of the round came on the par-5, No. 13.
The Henderson, Nev. native finished the tournament with a 10-over, 226.
Myranda Kotlowski had a solid day in the final round of the tournament. Kotlowski matched her teammate with a 4-over, 76 in the round and was able to finish 29
th in the tournament. She played the front-nine to an even-par, 36 before playing the back-nine to 4-over.
Fellow Nevadan
Crystle Querol finished in a tie for seventh after her second straight round of 5-over, 77 while
Sadie Kelley also shot a 5-over, 77 and finished the tournament in a tie for 17
th place.
Regis' Meredith Boos won the medalist honor with a 1-over, 217 in the tournament.
