GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa women's golf team finished up regular season play as they hosted the Maverick Challenge at Tiara Rado Golf Course on Saturday (Apr. 13) and Sunday (Apr. 14) afternoon. The Mavericks defeated Adams State in the challenge as both teams were originally scheduled to compete in South Dakota, but weather and postponements changed those plans.
The Mavericks shot 306 in their first round on Saturday before facing windier and tougher conditions in Sunday's final round where they shot a 331. They defeated the Grizzlies in what turned out to be a dual 637-767.
Crystle Querol earned medalist honors after moving up the leaderboard four spots from Saturday's first round and finished with a 13-over, 155. Querol finished the day with a 4-over, 75 which was five strokes better than her teammate
Sadie Kelley's 9-over, 80 as the second-best round of the day.
The Henderson, Nev. native had two birdies and six bogey's in her round with one birdie coming on each front and back.
Myranda Kotlowksi finished second among the 13 golfers after a 15-over, 157. She was the day one leader after a 1-over, 72 on Saturday and shot an 85 in her final round on Sunday.

Brittlynn O'Dell (161) round out the top-5 plus ties.
The Mavericks will be off to the RMAC Championships at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev. beginning on April 21.
