Baskin, Jessup, Johnson Earn CSC Academic All-District

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Trevor Baskin, Isaac Jessup and Reece Johnson all qualified for the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® honors, as announced by the organization on Tuesday (March 26). In addition, Baskin has been advanced to the national ballot for CSC's Academic All-America® team, which will be announced on April 17.

It is the second consecutive CSC Academic All-District® honor for Baskin, Jessup and Johnson. To qualify for the all-district team, student-athletes must have at least a 3.5 GPA and play in 90 percent and/or start 66 percent of their team's games in the current season.

Baskin has a 3.66 GPA as a business administration and finance double major. The 2024 RMAC Player of the Year had a historic on-court season for CMU this season, earning double All-American honors from the NABC and D2CCA earlier today in addition to first team all-region and all-conference accolades.

Baskin currently ranks fifth on CMU's all-time scoring list with 1,656 points, sixth on CMU's all-time rebounding list with 767 career boards and second all-time with 145 career blocks, just one off the program record of 146 set by Eric Hawkins (1982-86).

Jessup has a 3.67 GPA as an animation, film, photography and motion design major. A Second Team All-RMAC guard on the court, Jessup averaged 10.1 points per game and was a 37 percent three-point shooter while ranking second in the conference with 219 three-point attempts. Jessup frequently served as one of CMU's top perimeter defenders throughout the season, averaging over a steal per game, and finished out 2024 with an incredible .963 free-throw percentage.

Johnson has a 3.95 GPA as an exercise science major and has plans to attend medical school after graduation. The Windsor, Colorado native has logged over 3,000 minutes in his CMU career. Johnson transitioned to a sixth-man role for the Mavericks this season, as the redshirt junior averaged over 20 minutes per game for the Mavs despite only making seven starts. Johnson averaged 4.5 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game this season.

The 2023-24 Academic All-District® Men's Basketball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
