Seward earns RMAC Pitcher of the Week honor

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference released their weekly pitcher and player of the week awards on Tuesday (Feb. 27) afternoon. Colorado Mesa's Cole Seward was named the RMAC Pitcher of the Week after his outing against Northwest Nazarene.

Seward pitched the Mavericks to a game three victory over Northwest Nazarene with a complete game effort. The junior allowed one run (unearned) on five hits, walked one and struck out five in the seven-inning performance. The Nighthawks did not have an extra base-hit and batted just .200 in the game.

For the season, the Placentia, Calif. native is 2-0 with a 1.56 ERA in 17 and a third innings pitched. He has struck out 17 batters and walked just one while allowing his opponents to bat just .246.

Seward becomes the first Maverick this season to earn RMAC Player or Pitcher of the Week honors.

Colorado Mesa will be in action this afternoon against Azusa Pacific in the finale of the quick two-game mini-series.
