GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The D2CCA and NCBWA have announced their All-Region Teams for baseball over the weekend. Colorado Mesa had seven student-athletes represented on one of the two All-Region lists.
Head Coach
Chris Hanks was named the NCBWA South Central Region Coach of the Year after leading the Mavericks to the NCAA South Central Super Regionals and a 52-5 record on the season. It is the fourth time he has won the Regional Coach of the Year award and has eclipsed 1,150 wins in his career.
Kolby Felix garnered NCBWA and D2CCA South Central Region Player of the Year honors along with NCBWA and D2CCA All-Region First Team accolades. The RMAC Player of the Year played in and started 55 games and batted .427 with 21 doubles and 17 home runs with 26 stolen bases. He earned All-RMAC First Team and Gold Glove honors leading up to the RMAC Tournament where he was named the tournament's most valuable player.
Felix scored 87 runs which ranks No. 3 in NCAA Division II and has an OBP of .558 which ranks No. 7 in NCAA Division II. The Sun City, Ariz. native had a .825 slugging percentage which is No. 12 in NCAA Division II.
Jackson Eisenhauer was named the NCBWA and D2CCA South Central Region Pitcher of the Year while earning NCBWA and D2CCA All-Region First Team honors. The freshman from Los Angeles, Calif. earned RMAC Pitcher of the Year and RMAC Freshman Pitcher of the Year honors for his work during his first collegiate season
He is 8-1 on the season with a 3.09 ERA in 58.1 innings pitched with 59 strikeouts against just 12 walks. His 3.09 ERA ranks No. 39 in NCAA Division II and has a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 4.92 which ranks No. 11 in NCAA Division II.
Lefthanded pitcher
Caleb Ruter was named D2CCA and NCBWA All-South Central Region First Team and Second Team respectively. The Arvada, Colo. native is 7-0 with a 4.48 ERA in 64.1 innings pitched with 57 strikeouts and 26 walks. Ruter pitched a complete-game shutout against CSU Pueblo on the one-year anniversary of having ACL surgery (March 13). He was a D2CCA, ABCA, and NCBWA All-Region selection in 2024.
Sophomore
Ezra Farmer earned D2CCA and NCBWA All-South Central Region First Team as an outfielder. The San Jacinto, Calif. native played in 55 games and started 54 of them is batting .356 with 19 doubles, two triples, and six home runs. He stole 21 bases and had two 4-hit games this year.
Closer
Sage Ferguson was named to both the D2CCA and NCBWA All-South Central Region First Team. The senior is currently 1-0 with a 2.28 ERA and six saves in 20 appearances. The Hawthorne, Nev. native has pitched 23.2 innings and allowed 20 hits with 33 strikeouts and two walks. He earned All-RMAC First Team relief pitcher honors prior to the RMAC Tournament.
Joey Blank was named to the D2CCA All-Region First Team as a utility player. The Woodland Hills, Calif. native has played in 17 times at second base and 42 times at third base. Blank was an All-RMAC Second Team Third Base and an RMAC All-Tournament Team recipient. He is batting .354 (1.005 OPS) with 11 doubles, two triples, and eight home runs and has stolen 13 bases.
Senior shortstop
Kennedy Hara earned NCBWA All-South Central Region First Team Utility after being named an All-RMAC First Team Infielder. The Aiea, Hawaii native is batting .373 with 20 doubles, a triple and five home runs. Hara ranks No. 8 in NCAA Division II with 11 sacrifice bunts and is No. 20 in NCAA Division II in toughest to strikeout at 16.1.
