Hockey Falls to Air Force to Close Season

GRAND JUNCTION, CO. - Colorado Mesa Hockey hosted the #7 ranked Air Force Academy for their final two games of the season.

The Mavericks would host the Falcons at home for the final games of the season. The matchup would already prove to be a tough one, but CMU would also find themselves severely short handed with four new players down with sicknesses and a bench depth of 13 skaters.

CMU kept both games in the weekend competitive through two periods, however both games saw the Falcons separate themselves from the Mavericks in the third period with Air Force outscoring CMU by 8 goals in that frame alone. While the previous two frames only beating CMU by a combined 2 goals in 4 periods.

Game 1 ended in a final score of 7-1 Air Force, with Bryson Sutterby scoring his 18th of the season and the lone Maverick goal.

Game 2 ended with a 8-2 final, this time goals would come from Ethan Gotchey for his 6th of the season and Kevin Miller with his 7th of the season.

The Mavericks ended the season with a 10-13 record.
