GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.— The Colorado Mesa University softball team will open the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference portion of their schedule in a different location, it has been announced.
The Mavericks will now play their Saturday and Sunday series against Fort Lewis College at Bloomfield High School in Bloomfield, New Mexico as the Skyhawks' normal on-campus facility in Durango, Colorado is unplayable due to recent snow storms.
Both days' doubleheaders will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday's doubleheader was originally scheduled to be played at Noon so Maverick fans should also note the change and earlier start time.
Admission will be free.
The address of Bloomfield High School is 520 N 1
st Street; Bloomfield, NM 87413.
To reach the softball complex, continue south past Bloomfield High School on N 1
st St. and take a left on E Pine Ave to reach the back of the school.
The Mavericks went 2-4 in their season-opening tournament while the Skyhawks are 2-7 thus far in 2024.
A full series preview will be posted on
www.cmumavericks.com later this week.
