COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— After opening the 2024-25 season with strong performances at last weekend's Intermountain Shootout, the Colorado Mesa University swimming & diving teams swept the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's weekly awards, which were announced by conference officials on Wednesday afternoon.

Olivia Hansson won the RMAC Men's & Women's Swimmer of the Week awards for the first time in their careers while sophomores
Jenna Hurley and
Jax Juarros swept the Diver of the Week awards. Hurley also claimed the honor three times last year while Juarros had won two such honors as a freshman in 2023-24.
Scoggin, who hails from Greeley, Colorado, won the 100-yard backstroke and led-off the Mavs' winning 400 medley relay team on Friday before helping the Mavs place second in the 200 medley relay on Saturday. He turned in a NCAA Division II leading time of 49.15 seconds for the 100 back during the first relay and later turned in a time of 49.56 to win the individual event. He also posted a 200 back time of 1:50.89, fourth fastest in the country, on Saturday after swimming the 50 back in 23.06 seconds to open the 200 medley relay.
Meanwhile, Juarros finished third in the 1-meter diving competition on Friday, finishing ahead of two BYU divers and all of his Maverick teammates, posting a 6-dive score of 267.90 points. The Gilbert, Arizona native then set an 11-dive score of 487.73 points in a non-scoring exhibition event during Saturday's meet, easily surpassing the NCAA Division II Championship qualifying standard of 440 points.
On the women's side, Hansson set three NCAA Championship "B" cut times as the Mavericks split a pair of duals against Division I Utah while sweeping RMAC rival CSU Pueblo in the multiple-team dual scoring formatted meets, which also included BYU. On Friday, the Kivik, Sweden native, won the 200-yard butterfly with an NCAA Division II leading time of 2:05.15 and turned in the fastest NCAA Division II time in the 1000 Free (10:14.49) as well while taking second place in that event.
She also set a NCAA "B" cut time of 1:52.13, fifth fastest in Division II this year, to take third in the 200 Free before adding another NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 5:01.99 in the 500 Free, second fastest in the country on Saturday.
Hurley, a native of Southlake, Texas, finished second in both diving events over the weekend, recording a 6-dive, 3-meter score of 251.25 points on Friday before setting an NCAA Championship qualifying mark of 404.78 points over 11 dives off the 1-meter on Saturday. She was named as the RMAC Diver of the Year in 2023-24.
The Mavericks will be back in the competition pool on Oct. 26 hosting Division I Wyoming an afternoon dual meet.
