COLORADO SPRINGS, CO. - Colorado Mesa Hockey made their way to Colorado College to take on the Tigers in a two game series

This trip would be the start of two short handed weekends the Mavericks would face, as illnesses and injuries fell over the team.

The first period would end as a stalemate as both teams couldn't find their ways onto the score board, however the second period brought with it six total goals between the two clubs.

Colorado College struck first with two goals early in the 2nd period giving them the 2-0 lead over the Mavericks.
Mason Ripley would bring the game back within one mid way through with his 3rd of the year. However, consecutive penalties by the Mavericks would see that 2-1 deficit make its way to 4-1 late in the period before
Bryson Sutterby netted one heading into the intermission.

Much of the same happened in the 3rd period. The Mavericks couldn't keep out of the box and Colorado College made them pay with two more goals. It was all academic after that with
Shjon Kern getting a late goal to bring the final score to 6-3 in favor of the Tigers.

Game two of the weekend saw the Mavericks address their penalty concerns from the day prior.

In the 1st freshman
Ryan Koch gave the Mavericks a lead. Mesa would not trail the rest of the day.

The Tigers wouldn't go down without a fight, they would score a goal quickly in the 2nd to make the game 1-1. Junior
Ethan Gotchey would rebuttal a minute after with a goal of his own to get the lead right back making it 2-1. It would remain that way till late in the 3rd period.

Colorado College made a push late tying the game with under two minutes to go. Again freshman
Ryan Koch would get on the board in the dying minutes to give Colorado Mesa the lead, 3-2. Ultimately being the game winner and helping the Mavericks split the weekend with the Tigers.
