SOUTH JORDAN, Utah — All five golfers placed in the top 25, led by Myranda Kotlowski, as Colorado Mesa placed fourth Tuesday in the 54 for IX tournament at Glenmoor Golf Club.
Kotlowski shot a third-round 77 and tied for eighth at 232, up one spot from Monday.
Cassidy Phelan's third-round 76 was good to move into a tie for 13th at 235, with Sadie Kelley tying for 19th a 237, shooting a 78 in the final round of the 11-team tournament.
Brittlynn O'Dell and Crystle Querol tied for 23rd at 239, with O'Dell carding an 81 and Querol an 80.
Sonoma State won the team title with a 923, followed by Biola at 929 and Colorado Christian at 935. Biola's Brady Turnquist won medalist honors with a 220, five strokes ahead of Sonoma States's Avery Foster.
Kotlowski had one double-bogey and three bogeys in her final round and Phelan, who moved up five spots on the final leaderboard, birdied the 470-yard par-5 fifth hole and also had five bogeys.
The Mavericks, who play in the Farmers Insurance Samuel Proal Invite on Oct, 9-10 at Pueblo Country Club, were second to CCU in par-3 scoring at 3.23 strokes, third in par-4 scoring at 4.48 and were third with 20 birdies. Kotlowski was even on par-3 holes, tied for the best in the field.
