SAN ANTONIO, Texas— Colorado Mesa University softball players
Ashley Bradford and
Rylee Crouch were both named to the Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-South Central Region Softball Team, announced this week. Both players were second team selections at the shortstop and outfielder positions, respectively, in the voting of sports information directors from the region, made up of the Lone Star and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conferences.
They join
Sarah Jorissen, who was a first team pick on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) all-region team, which was announced last week, as Maverick all-region selections.
The Mavs have now had at least one D2CCA all-region pick in every completed season since 2009 and have multiple honorees every year since 2017.
Bradford, a redshirt senior from Tucson, Arizona, was also a first team D2CCA and Second Team NFCA All-South Central Region pick in 2022. Crouch is a sophomore from Brighton, Colorado and joined Bradford on the First Team All-RMAC squad as well.
Bradford had one of the best all-around seasons in the RMAC, finishing tenth in the RMAC for slugging percentage (.680), seventh for on-base percentage (.447) and fifth for on-base plus slugging percentage (1.127) while hitting .349 with 11 doubles, three triples and 13 home runs. She also finished eighth in the RMAC for home runs, ninth for runs scored (45) and tenth for RBIs (42) while drawing 25 walks, seventh most in the conference.
In conference game only statistics, Bradford led the league in batting average (.434), on-base percentage (.532) and OPS (1.377) while ranking second in slugging at .845.
Crouch led the RMAC and currently sits eighth in the national statistics for home runs with 19, tied for the second highest single-season total in CMU history. She also hit three more home runs than any other RMAC player and drove in 60 runs to rank second in the RMAC and 19
th nationally and finished with the RMAC's third highest slugging percentage at .766 and OPS mark (1.170).
Crouch also led the Maverick regulars with a .360 batting average.
