The Lady Mavs started their 2022 home winning streak off in a big way today against visiting New Mexico State University. Eight Lady Mavs touched down for a try in the 95-5 victory. Again, the young talent shown bright as Rookies Reese Barber (4), Ellen Rickerd (3), Ashlyn Erekson (2), and Ameri Chavez (1) accounted for 10 of the team trys. Team co-captains Nallely Robles and
Emily Canvasser (2) added a few more. Seasoned veterans
Ryleigh Blatnik and
Sarah Penick each tacked on another to round out the try frenzy. Blatnik went 7 for 9 on conversions and
Courtney Hull converted three more kicks. Led by tough tackling, solid rucking and intentional offloads, the offense was firing on all cylinders.
