Grand Junction, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa women's lacrosse team advance to the RMAC Tournament final to take on top-seeded Regis University Sunday at 12 p.m. in Denver, Colorado on Regis Lacrosse Field.
 
The Mavericks entered the tournament as the two seed and took down UCCS in the RMAC semifinal (May 6) as 
Kiley Davis led the team with five goals while six other Mavericks contributed to the 18 total goals scored.
 
Davis now has 47 goals on the season with 
Taylor Jakeman following behind at 35 goals. Six other Mavericks are in double digits as the team has scored a total of 248 goals on the season while holding their opponents to 165 goals.
 
The Mavericks have faced Regis twice in the 2022 season, losing in both games 10-17 (Apr. 1) and 8-15 (Apr. 30). #3 Regis are undefeated with an 18-0 overall record and 12-0 conference record.

Melanie Evans each scored two goals apiece in the first matchup to lead the team and 
Brianna Anderson and 
Ashton Whittle finding the back of the net twice each in the second matchup.
 
Maverick versus Ranger history began in 2011 and have met up a total of 26 times with Regis coming out victorious in all games.
 
Leading the way for Regis RMAC Attacker of the Year, Kyleigh Peoples with 47 goals and 23 assists to have a total of 70 points on the season. Another big threat for the Rangers is Hannah Krats who has 39 goals and 20 assists and led the team in the last game against the Mavericks with three goals.
 
Regis came out with a 20-4 win against No.4 seed Fort Lewis in the RMAC Tournament semifinal on Friday (May 6). 11 different Rangers scored – Peoples, Krats, Lily Ferguson and Alexis Parker led the way as they each got a hat trick.
 
The Mavericks will look to get their first win in history against Regis Sunday at noon on for the RMAC Tournament title on Regis Lacrosse Field in Denver, Colorado.
