LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The No. 4 Colorado Mesa women's wrestling team ran their dual win streak to 18 matches after going 6-0 at the Las Vegas Desert Duals on Sunday (Dec. 18) at the Flamingo Hilton Hotel and hosted by Wartburg College.
 
#4 Colorado Mesa 48, Pacific University 0
The Mavericks won all four contested bouts in a 48-0 thrashing of fellow Region 5 Pacific University of Oregon to open the desert duals. Colorado Mesa benefitted from six forfeits and earned pins in two of the four bouts. They also won the other two contested contests by technical fall.
 
Holly Beaudoin (136) and Aynslee Hester (155) earned wins by pin while Lizzie Miller (130) and Erica Schroeder (143) earned technical fall wins.

The Mavericks won nine of the ten contests against NJCAA member Grays Harbor College during a 43-6 win. Seven of the ten bouts ended in either a forfeit win or by pin.
 
Isabella Morales (109), Lizzie Miller (130), Erica Schroeder (143), and Samantha Vasquez (191) all earned wins by fall. Israel Resendez (123) and Aynslee Hester (155) picked up technical fall wins.

The Mavericks turned to one of their better lineups for the next two duals, first up the Tiffin Dragons. Once again, Colorado Mesa won nine of the ten bouts en route to a 47-5 win over the No. 19 Dragons.
 
Carisa Epling (116) and No. 7 Celina Cooke (143) earned pins while six others earned wins by technical fall.

The Mavericks won six of the ten bouts against their competitors from the North as they secured a big 25-16 win over Simon Fraser in a matchup of two top six teams in the National Rankings. The Mavericks benefitted from a forfeit win at 101 pounds and back-to-back pins at 130 and 136 pounds to help secure the win.
 
No. 8 ranked Hailey Chapman scored a pin of No. 4 Marquesis Haintz and was followed up by her teammate No. 8 Holly Beaudoin who earned a pin at 136 pounds over Jade Trolland at 4:50.
 
There were two other matchup of ranked wrestlers going against each other in the dual with both wins coming for the Mavericks. No. 1 Marissa Gallegos earned a 10-0 technical fall of No. 4 Victoria Seal at 123 pounds while teammate No. 3 Jayleen Sekona clinched the dual at 191 pounds with a 4-2 decision of No. 4 Katja Osteen.
