RIO DE JANIERO, Brazil— Colorado Mesa University women's wrestler
Gretchen Donally went 4-0 and won the gold medal at the U20 Pan-American Championships on Friday here at the Physical Education Center Admiral Adalberto Nunes.
Donally, a native of Ballantine, Montana, was the lone Team USA wrestler in the 72-kilogram (158.733 pounds) weight class and beat all four of her opponents in the 5-woman round-robin bracket.
She defeated Rayne Avles Da Silva of the host nation in her final match by a 5-3 decision to claim the gold as the Brazilian settled for the silver.
Earlier, Donally beat Jolina Healey of Canada by a 10-0 technical fall margin before pinning Nicol Hurtado Castillo at the 4:42 mark. She then pinned Jennifer Olmedo of Mexico before completing her day with the win over her Brazilian foe.
Donally was one of seven U.S. women to take gold on Friday.
In the 2025-26 collegiate season, Donally led the Mavericks with 29 wins. She has posted a 56-20 collegiate record in her first two seasons with CMU.
