MANHEIM, Pa.— The awards continue to pour in for the Colorado Mesa University Mavericks, who have won a National Wrestling Coaches Association NCAA Women's Team Scholar All-America Award.
The Mavericks led all Division II institutions and finished fourth overall with their 3.86583 grade point average calculation.
Forty programs were recognized this year.
The Mavs have now been recognized during all eight years of their program's history since 2018-19. They have finished in the nation's top five seven times and won the overall championship in both 2018-19 and 2021-22.
The team scholar award standings are calculated from an average GPA from a team's top 12 wrestlers. Ten of those 12 must have wrestled in at least ten matches this season.
CMU also had a Division II-leading 18 NWCA Scholar All-Americans who were recently announced.
On the mat, the Mavericks finished eighth as a team at the inaugural NCAA Women's Wrestling Championships as all four of their national qualifiers earned all-America honors.
