COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference has announced the bracket and qualifying teams for the conference softball tournament, which Colorado Mesa University will host for the fifth straight time beginning Thursday at the CMU Softball Stadium.
The Mavericks, who won their fifth consecutive RMAC Regular Season title with a 34-2 record are the top seed in the 6-team double-elimination tournament and will open up their post-season efforts in Game No. 3 on Thursday at 4 p.m. against the winner of Game No. 1 between fourth-seeded Colorado School of Mines and fifth-seeded Regis. The Mavericks swept a home series against Mines and won three of four games at Regis during the regular season.
The other half of the bracket includes No. 2 seed MSU Denver, which will face the winner of Game 2 between No. 3 seed Colorado Christian and No. 6 seed Fort Lewis in Game No. 4. The Mavericks swept 4-game sets with MSU Denver and Colorado Christian during the regular season and did not play Fort Lewis.
RMAC Tournament games will be played at 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. Saturday's schedule will include another elimination game at 1 p.m., which will set up the championship and if-necessary games at 3:30 and 6 p.m. that day.
