COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— For the second time this season, Colorado Mesa University's
Mariah Martin was named as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week.
The award, which was announced on Monday afternoon by conference officials, came after the Sandy, Utah native averaged 27.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game in a pair of Maverick wins over the weekend.
On Friday, Martin scored a career-high 33 points as she hit all 18 of her free throws to set a new school-record for made free throws in a game during CMU's win over Adams State. She also had seven assists in that game.
Martin then followed that up with another a game-high 22 points in Saturday's 60-50 win over nationally-ranked CSU Pueblo. She also had a season and game-high nine rebounds and was 8-for-11 from the free throw line against the ThunderWolves.
Martin was also named as the RMAC Offensive Player of the Week on Nov. 29 and leads the RMAC with her 18.4 point and 5.2 assist per game averages this season.
The Mavericks are 10-1 overall and 5-1 in RMAC play this season.
