Women's Soccer Close out Regular Season at Westminster

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa women's soccer team heads on the road for one to Salt Lake City, Utah for their final regular season match with the Westminster Griffins.
Team's will kick off at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3 on Dumke Field.

Weekend Rewind
The Mavericks took their longest road trips of the season, heading south and just out of state to New Mexico, before closing out the road trip back in state in Alamosa.
Game one of the weekend took some extra time, but Michaela Dangler came up field to score the golden-goal in the 96th minute. Haley Klasner lined up to take the corner kick, sending it into the 6-yard box, where Dangler found her way through Grizzly defenders sending the game-winner over the line.
Sunday's match up brought the Mavs back in state to Alamosa, to face the Grizzlies of Adams State.
ASU was first to get on the board in the 17th minute. In the 23rd minute, the Mavericks set up a free kick just beyond the penalty box – Lexi Newton tapping it slightly over to Klasner who opted to shoot, finding the top right pocket to tie up the game.
With the teams heading into the final 10 to play, Sydney Hathaway came away with the game-winning goal, volleying it into the back of the net in the 82nd minute.

What's on the Line
Colorado Mesa sits at 10-1 in the conference with 30 points and a 9-game win streak. They are two points ahead of Colorado School of Mines, already clinching a spot in the RMAC Tournament but could potentially host the tournament should they earn full points in the final regular season match up.

Scouting the Griffins
At 9-2-4 overall, 6-2-3 in conference play, the Westminster Griffins are sitting in the No. 6 spot in the league and have clinched a spot in the upcoming conference tournament.
They are riding a four-game win streak, three games being decided by 3-0 shutouts.
Collectively, they have put 26 past opponents, conceding just eight. Alexa Maple leads the way with six goals and four assists. Kelsea Cracroft has started all 15 outings, allowing just six goals while making 35 saves for three solo shutouts, six combined with Naomi Kehl.
The Mavericks took a 3-1 win at Dumke Field last spring, the first on the road and in the overall series.

RMAC Preseason Poll
This season the Mavericks came in at No. 7 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Preseason Poll, moving up a spot from last season's poll, collecting 85 votes. Head Coach Megan Remec returns for the Fall season after leading the team to 5-4-1 record last season and a berth in the RMAC Tournament.
