GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The conference-leading Colorado Mesa Mavericks (14-1, 18-3), will return home this weekend for games against Westminster College (17-4, 12-3), who currently sits in second place, and Dixie State University (14-7, 19-6). The games will take place Friday and Saturday night inside Brownson Arena and begin at 5:30 pm.

All About the Mavs
With a 14-1 conference record the Mavericks sit on top of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference standings. In their last outing the Mavericks defeated Regis University and Colorado Christian.
The Mavericks continue to lead the nation in scoring defense (47.0) and rank fourth in defensive percentage (32.5). The Mavericks lead the conference in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.19) and have the highest scoring margin at 15.5 points.
As the point guard, Sydni Brandon leads the conference in steals (60) and assists-to-turnover ratio (2.4). She's totaled 93 assists this season and is averaging 4.4 a game which ranks second among RMAC opponents.
Kelsey Siemons, who has recorded over half her points this season from the three-point line, leads the conference in three-point field goal percentage (47.1) and ranks eighth nationally. The 6-1 junior from Tucson, Ariz. has blocked 36 shots this season to lead the conference and has totaled 92 in her career.
Boca Raton, Fla. native Daniella Turner, who leads the Mavs in scoring, is averaging 15.5 points per game while shooting at a 41.9 percent clip from the field. She currently leads the conference in field goal attempts and field goals made (132-of-315).
Kylyn Rigsby is averaging 10.3 points per game and has recorded the second most three-pointers on the team (40). She is grabbing down 2.3 rebounds per game and has recorded the second most assists on the team (41).
As the best rebounder on the team, Sierra McNicol is averaging 6.0 per game while scoring 6.4 points per game at a 59.4 percentage which also leads the team.
The Mavs are shooting 40.6 percent from the field, 31.2 percent from the three-point line, and 67.3 percent from the free throw line to average 62.6 points per game.
Head coach Taylor Wagner is in his eighth season at Colorado Mesa and has totaled a 186-44 (80.8 winning percentage) record during his tenure. In RMAC games alone Wagner has a 143-32 record which is the highest winning percentage of active RMAC coaches.
Winter Whiteout Game
Throughout Friday's men's and women's doubleheader, fans can enjoy some extra entertainment and a chance to win special prizes and giveaways during the Mavericks' Winter Whiteout Presented by Coca-Cola promotion.
The first 700 fans will receive a free Whiteout T-shirt provided by Coca-Cola. These shirts are made from recycled plastic and will be distributed by the CMU Sustainability Council.
Rowdy and the Coca Cola Polar Bear will be providing in-game and halftime entertainment. Fans are encouraged to wear white throughout the evening.
National Rankings
For the third consecutive week the Mavericks have been ranked in the WBCA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll. After entering the poll three weeks ago at No. 22 the Mavs have reached their highest rank of the season at to No. 21 in this week's poll which was released on Feb 4.
Total points are based on 25 points for first place through one point for. The WBCA NCAA Division II Coaches Poll Committee is composed of one head coach from each of the 23 NCAA Division II conferences.
The Mavericks improved to No.15 in this week's Women's Basketball Division II Media Poll which was releases on Feb 4.
In the South-Central Regional Poll the Mavs improved to No. 3 after being ranked No. 4 last week.
Scouting Westminster
Westminster sits in second place of the RMAC standings with a 12-3 conference record. The Mavs just saw Westminster two weeks ago and fell 55-51.
The Mavericks have an overall winning record against Westminster, 6-4. When playing inside Brownson Arena the Mavericks are 4-1 against the Griffins and have never lost consecutive games to the Griffins.
The Mavericks are led by Mariah Martin and Hunter Krebs who are each averaging 16.3 and 16.1, respectively. They are the sixth and seventh best scorers in the RMAC entering the weekend. Krebs is currently shooting 61.1 percent from the field to lead the conference.
Kaitlin Toluono averages 8.5 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per game.
The Griffins are shooting 46.7 percent from the field, 38.3 percent from the three-point line, and 76.1 percent from the free-throw line to average 67.7 points per game, the fourth highest scoring average in the RMAC.
Scouting Dixie State
The Trailblazers are sixth in the standings with a 9-6 conference record and a 14-7 overall record. Two weeks ago, when the Mavericks traveled to Burns Arena in St. George the Mavericks defeated the Trailblazers 59-51.
As a team the Trailblazers are shooting 40.8 percent from the field, 33.5 percent from the three-point line, and 71.2 percent from the free throw line to average 67.2 points per game.
They are led by Ali Franks who averages 13.3 points per game and grabs down 4.6 rebounds per contest. London Pavlica leads the team in rebounding with 6.8 per game.
Madi Loftus of Dixie State leads the conference in free throw percentage (93.0).
The Mavericks are 7-3 all-time against the Trailblazers and have won the previous seven consecutive matchups.
