GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa Mavericks (4-2) will host their first RMAC games of the season this weekend at Walker Field on Friday and Saturday. They will put their 1-1 RMAC record to the test against MSU Denver on Friday at 7 pm and UCCS on Sunday at 1:30 pm.
After playing MSU Denver on Friday the Mavericks will face UCCS on Sunday who is ranked No. 2 by the United Soccer Coach Association. This is the highest ranked opponent any Maverick women's soccer team has faced since 2012 when Fort Lewis College was No. 2.
The Mavericks officially began the RMAC season last weekend on the road and split games defeating CCU in overtime and falling to Colorado School of Mines.
Ryanne Parker and Zoe Peterson lead the Mavericks with five points each. The senior duo have each recorded two goals and one assist. Both of Parker's goals came in the game against CCU where she recorded the second game winning goal of her career in overtime of the match. Peterson scored the Mavericks only goal against Colorado School of Mines and now has eight on her career.
Alexis Allard recorded the first goal of her senior season in the Mavericks opening match and now has 15 goals on her career, which ranks ninth in the CMU record book. The game this Friday will mark her 60th game played in.
About MSU Denver
The roadrunners are 2-5 overall and 1-1 against RMAC opponents. Despite their losing record they have outscored opponents 12-7. They recorded eight goals in their most recent shutout against New Mexico Highlands. Most recently, the Roadrunners lost to CSU- Pueblo 2-1 on the road. Their other win comes from their second game of the season where they defeated St. Mary's 3-0.
The Roadrunners are led by Jessica Mooney who has five points this year, which includes two goals and one assist. Erica Torres has seen the most time this season as goalkeeper recording over 600 minutes and 27 saves. She has a 1.03 goal against average and a 0.794 saves percentage.
About UCCS
The Cougars of Colorado Springs are the Mavericks second ranked opponent this season following Colorado School of Mines who was ranked No. 10 last week.
UCCS has a perfect 6-0 record entering this weekend. In this six game winning streak the Cougars defeated No. 10 West Texas A&M as the only ranked opponent they've faced. Three of their six games have been shutouts.
Kaitlin Hinkle and Shanade Hopcroft led the Cougars with three goals on the season. Hopcroft leads the conference with 4.33 shots per game.

The Mavericks will face Regis University and Black Hills State on October 4th and 6th on the road. The game against Regis will be played at 3:30 pm on the Regis Match Pitch and the game against Black Hills State will be played at 1 pm on Ronnie Theisz Field.
