DENVER— Senior
William Agritelley won all 12 games of his No. 6 singles match to lead the Colorado Mesa University Men's Tennis squad in a 6-1 team defeat on Friday afternoon at MSU Denver. Agritelley now has a team-leading eight singles wins this year as he scored a 6-0, 6-0 win over Kacey Walsundara to record the Mavs' lone team point.
Meanwhile, CMU's
Moises Cure and
Christian Albrechtsen were also victorious in their No. 3 doubles match against Daniel Llorente and Walisundara. However, the Roadrunners won the other two doubles to matches and then won five singles matches as they took the overall win to improve to 6-8.
Two of the singles matches went to three sets as Joey Tscherne, ranked 49
th in NCAA Division II by the ITA, held on for a 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 win over
Max Lindqvist in the No. 1 flight. Mateo Besada also outlasted the Mavericks'
Alain De La Bastide, 5-7, 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 4 singles matches.
CMU, now 3-13 on the season, will play against CSU-Pueblo at Pueblo East High School on Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m.
