The Colorado Mesa Mavericks are 4-5 on the season and will open up Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play this weekend against Westminster College on April 6 at 2 pm on Dumke Field in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The Mavericks have the second best overall record entering RMAC play behind CSU-Pueblo who owns a 5-2 record and has already picked up their first conference win against Adams State.
As a team the Mavericks are shooting 31.1 percent and averaging 13.33 goals per game. They have totaled 120 goals this season and 15 of them have been man up which leads the RMAC.
Jack Griffin has led the Mavericks all season and continues to do so with 38 points. His 4.22 points per game is third best in the RMAC. He has totaled 26 goals and 12 assists this far in  his senior season and his 2.98 goals per game is third best in the RMAC while his 1.33 assists per game is also third best in the RMAC.
Senior Michael Marino has won 93-of-198 faceoffs this season and leads the team with 51 ground balls.
Player of the Week
Jack Griffin was named RMAC Offensive Player of the Week on Monday April 1 after his record breaking game against Notre Dame De Namur when he scored 10 goals, five assists and recorded 15 points. His ten goals broke the previous school record by two while his five assists tied a previous school record. The 15 points he recorded in that game smashed the previous record which was set at 8 points.
This is the Parker, Colo. native's second award this year and the Mavericks have totaled six different player of the week awards this season.
Searching For a Fourth
With the start of RMAC play this weekend the Mavericks will be seeking their fourth consecutive RMAC regular season championship. The program has completed a three-peat in both regular season championships and RMAC Tournament Championships and will begins their hunt for a fourth this Saturday.
In each of the last three seasons the Mavericks have never lost more than one game during conference.
Scouting Westminster
The Griffins of Westminster College are 3-6 on the season and 1-2 on their home field. The Griffins are currently on a two game losing streak after falling to two nationally ranked opponents. They lost 9-12 to No. 15 Lindenwood and 10-13 against No. 16 Rockhurst.
Nick Marcy leads the team with 40 points and has 17 goals and 23 assists on the season. He is averaging 2.56 assist per game and 4.44 points per game which are both leading the conference. Kolton Atkinson leads them in goals with 28 and has totaled 3 assists. He is averaging 3.11 goals per game which is second best in the RMAC.
Mitchell Senour is their number one faceoff man and has won 100-of-188 faceoffs.
The Griffins are averaging 12.22 goals per game and have scored 11 times on man-up opportunities. This season they have outscored their opponents 110-104.
The Mavericks have faced Westminster in each of the championship games of the RMAC Tournament and defeated them each time over the past three years. The Mavs are 9-1 against the Griffins and have not lost to them since February 20th of the 2016 season.
Next Up
The Mavericks will play Johnson and Wales University April 9th at 6pm on Walker Field and will resume RMAC play against CSU-Pueblo and Adams State University. The game against CSU-Pueblo will take place April 12th at 7 pm on Walker Field and the game against Adams State will take place April 14th at 11 am on Walker Field.
