GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa Mavericks men's lacrosse team will look to snap their three-game losing streak this Wednesday against Notre Dame De Namur at 7 pm on Walker Field. The Mavericks sit 3-5 on the season and are returning to Walker Field after traveling to Florida where they went 0-2 against Sunshine State schools.
In the RMAC no other team has more than three wins although Colroado Mesa has the most losses with five; however, the Mavericks have played the most games thus far at eight.
So far this season Jack Griffin leads the team with 16 goals and seven assists. His 23 points this season is fourth best in the RMAC and his 2.88 points per game ranks seventh. Griffin has taken 65 shots this season which leads the conference. His four goals off man up goals is first in the conference and ranks 19th in the nation.
Joe Wulforst IV ties Griffin with seven assists on the season to lead the Maverick team. The Mavericks have assisted 50 of their 86 goals this season.
The Mavericks are leading RMAC opponents in caused turnovers per game with 11.38 each game.
As the Mavericks' No. 1 faceoff guy Michael Marino has won 76-of-175 faceoffs for a 43.4 faceoff percentage. Tanner Watson although fewer faceoffs has a 50.0 percentage as he has won 4-of-8.
Notre Dame De Namur
The Argonauts of Belmont California sit 1-6 on their season and are currently on a two game losing streak after losing to RMAC opponents CSU Pueblo and Westminster.
In the Mavericks previous meeting with the Argonauts they won 30-5. So far this season NDNU has been outscored 164-64.
Back on February 22nd there were 16 different Mavs who scored including five players with hat tricks.

With only one game this week the Mavericks will a week and a half until their next game. They will open up RMAC on the road against Westminster College on April 6th at 2 pm at Dumke Field.
