LAKEWOOD, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa men's golf team teed off in their first of two rounds at the Bob Writz Invitational, hosted by Colorado School of Mines, at Bear Creek Golf Club this afternoon.
The Mavericks sit in third place in the 10-team tournament after a first round 307 (+19), just nine strokes off first-place CSU-Pueblo who shot a 298 (+10). The host Orediggers sit in second place with a 12-over, 300.
Junior
Troy Dangler leads the Mavericks after the first round with a 2-over, 74. He sits in 10
th place, four strokes off the individual lead that is held by Colorado's John Paterson who fired a 2-under, 70.
Kyle Pearson and
Isaac Petersilie shot matching 5-over, 75s and sit in a tie for 19
th place.
Tomorrow's second and final round is set to begin at 10:50 with tee times set to go off every five minutes. The Mavericks first group is set to begin at 12:21pm.
