SAN DIEGO, Calif.— The Colorado Mesa University Men's Tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to Point Loma Nazarene University on Tuesday afternoon as they wrapped up their trip to California.

The match was played to clinch as the Sea Lions, ranked seventh in the Oracle/ITA NCAA Division II West Region took two of the three doubles matches in tiebreakers and used that momentum for three straight set wins in singles while improving to 5-4 as a team.

The Mavericks, ranked seventh in the South Central Region, fell to 3-12 overall including a 1-3 mark in California.  They were leading two of the three unfinished matches.

In doubles, the Sea Lions won the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches by 7-4 and 7-5 margins in the tiebreakers after Thomas Dafcik and Yuki Okamoto, ranked 22^nd nationally by the ITA, defeated Lucas Martin and Alain De La Bastide, 6-4 in the No. 1 doubles tilt.

In singles, Dafcik, ranked 26^th nationally was the first to win, defeating Lindqvist, 6-1, 6-0 in the top flight.  Scott Wheeler and Mark Vasat then claimed wins at No. 4 and 5 singles to secure the Sea Lions' team win.

At No. 6 singles, William Agritelley won the first set against Jasdeep Paintal, 6-3.  Christian Albrechtsen had split the first two sets at No. 3 singles and was leading Tim Soderman, 2-1 in the third.

The Mavericks are now off until Apr. 5 when they will play at MSU Denver.
